Artist Bio
Katie is a Worcestershire based ceramic artist with a love of painting. She gained a BA Hons in Textile Design where she specialised in surface pattern design. Following her degree, she found a passion for painting ceramics and became founder of Paint & Glaze, a small creative studio specialising in hand-painted and glazed ceramics and personalised home décor. Every piece is carefully created by hand, reflecting a deep commitment to craftsmanship, individuality, and meaningful design.
Since 2018 Katie has also been involved with several Wild in Art, where she continues to explore the relationship between surface pattern, colour and form – especially working across varied scale!
Artist Statement
My work is focused on using pattern, colour, and gentle familiar shapes to create a feeling of warmth and comfort. I’m drawn to soft pastel palettes and hand drawn florals to create a visual joyful story.
With a background in textile and surface pattern design, I think about how motifs move across a form to balance playfulness with calm. I want my designs to feel welcoming, nostalgic, and easy to connect with bringing a sense of softness and reassurance into everyday spaces.
